Collection Details For Artists

THE EDGE GALLERY COLLECTION is open to Edge Gallery members and features original works by select local artists and functions on four 3-month terms throughout the year:
Spring Term (February 1 – April 30)
Summer Term (May 1 – July 31)
Fall Term (August 1 – October 31)
Winter Term (November 1 – January 31)
 
Artists & artwork featured in our Collection will also be featured on our website collection page, and in our digital slideshows showcased 24/7 on HD monitors in Old Market Square and in the front window of our gallery. Being part of the Collection not only helps to promote one’s name and work, but gives potential clients & buyers a location at which to reliably find your work for sale.
 
 
HOW TO BECOME PART OF THE COLLECTION:
Artists wishing to apply to be part of our gallery collection are asked to submit digital images of 3-10 original art pieces for the collection curator’s consideration.  Artists whose pieces have been selected will be contacted 3 weeks prior to start of term, and selected pieces will be featured in the gallery collection for the term duration. In the event that an artist wishes to remove his/her artwork from the collection during their term, they may do so with a minimum 14 days notice, or with arrangement to replace the art piece with another art piece that has been approved by our curator. There is no cost to be part of the collection, just an application process and a contract entitling The Edge to a 20% commission on any pieces that sell during their featured term. ORIGINAL ARTWORK QUALIFICATIONS:
– art pieces can be of any medium
– maximum 2-dimensional piece size of 48″H x 48″L
– maximum 3-dimensional piece size of 48″H x 60″L x 24″W
– art pieces MUST be for sale; price to be set by artist
 
 
PRINT, BOOK & ZINE COLLECTION
In addition to original artworks, we also feature sections for art prints, art books, and art zines made by local artists. Again, there is no charge to have your work shown in any of these sections, however the gallery does take a 20% commission on merchandise sold.
 
Our art print collection functions on two 6-month terms throughout the year:
Spring/Summer Term (February 1 – July 31)
Fall/Winter Term (August 1 – January 31)
 
Artists wishing to apply to be part of our print collection are asked to submit digital images of 3-25 art prints for the collection curator’s consideration.  Artists whose prints have been selected will be contacted 3 weeks prior to start of term, and selected prints will be featured in the gallery collection for the term duration. In the event that an artist wishes to remove his/her prints from the collection during their term, they may do so with a minimum 14 days notice, or with arrangement to replace the art print with another art print of the same dimensions that has been approved by our curator. ART PRINT QUALIFICATIONS:
– prints must be of high-resolution quality (no less than 300dpi)
– prints may be 8″x10″, 9″x12″, 11″x14″ or 11″x17″
– all prints MUST be for sale; price to be set by artist
– 10-40 copies of featured prints must be made available to gallery for sale
